Player Eligibility by Birth Date

JR Gold: June 1, 2009 – May 31, 2011

Bantam: June 1, 2011 – May 31, 2013

PeeWee: June 1, 2013 – May 31, 2015

Squirt: June 1, 2015 – May 31, 2017

Girls U15: June 1, 2010 – May 31, 2013

Girls U12: June 1, 2013 – May 31, 2015

Girls U10: June 1, 2015 – May 31, 2017

Supermite: June 1, 2017 – May 31, 2019

Termite: Born on or after June 1, 2019

Birth date ranges are based on current USA Hockey age classifications for the season.


Step 1 - Register with USA Hockey

The USA Hockey registration fee is based on the player's birth year and age classification listed above.

All players must complete their annual registration with USA Hockey prior to registering with RYHA.

  • Please complete your USA Hockey registration first, then return to complete your RYHA registration.


Step 2 - Register your player(s) with RYHA

Players will be registered according to their age classification and birth year eligibility.

Families wishing to request that a player move up to an older age level should contact the appropriate Boys, Girls, or Mite Coordinator for consideration and approval.

Step 3 - Tryouts

See your level specific tryout page for start dates and other information

PeeWees and Bantams

If you do not want to tryout, please reply by email letting us know you DO NOT intend to tryout. Your players will be placed on the lower level team for their age group. 

The player will be removed from the tryout pool and your coach will contact you. This contact happens about two weeks after your level tryout has concluded

Squirt Tryouts

After registering, squirt players will need to register for tryouts below. 

All other boys levels, refer to the tryout information page for the tryout process.

Girls (10U) Girls registered for 10U DO NOT register for Squirt tryouts.

Following the conclusion of Registration, the Girls Unit Coordinator will contact you via email with upcoming schedule & further details per level. Registered 10U players will be evaluated during the scheduled times posted in Girls Tryout Information.

Advanced Supermite Evaluation

If you are supermite aged, DID NOT play Squirts last year, and would like to be evaluated for our advanced "Rover" program. Your player may participate in the Advanced Supermite Evaluation. Advanced Supermite Evaluation. Players previously playing squirt do not need to attend this evaluation.

This evaluation will take place in Early Fall. 

Girls Players that are GCL/girls supermites interested in being evaluated for 10U should submit request via email to the Girls Unit Coordinator.

Yes, and when RYHA fees were determined USA Hockey fees were left out.

Are USA Hockey fees for referee and player separate?

Yes, and USA Hockey collects a separate fee for player's and referee's.

Rochester Youth Hockey Association — 2026-2027 Season Registration

Registration is now open for the 2026-2027 RYHA hockey season. RYHA offers programs for players of all skill levels, from first-time skaters to competitive travel hockey.

Registration Dates

Registration Opens: August 1, 2026

Registration Closes: August 31, 2026

Registrations for Squirt, Peewee, Bantam, and JR Gold players received after August 31 will be assessed a $100 late fee in accordance with Section 7.5 of the RYHA Operations Manual.

How to Register

Create or log in to your Crossbar account.

Complete the registration for your player's division.

Submit all required documentation and payment at the time of registration.

Season Fees

Depending on your player's level and team placement, families may be responsible for up to four fees during the season:

1. USA Hockey Fee

All players must complete annual USA Hockey registration prior to registering with RYHA. The USA Hockey fee is determined by the player's birth year and age classification. USA Hockey Registration

2. RYHA Registration Fee

The RYHA registration fee is due at the time of registration and is paid online through Crossbar.

3. Level Fee

Level fees vary by age level and are based on factors such as allocated ice time and the number of scheduled away tournaments. Home tournaments hosted by RYHA are included at no additional cost.

Level fees are collected by the team manager after tryouts and team formation and are paid to RYHA by check.

4. Team Fee (Maximum of $100*)

Teams may collect an additional team fee of up to $100 per player to cover team expenses.

*Some teams may choose to participate in additional away tournaments beyond those included in the season schedule. Any costs associated with these optional tournaments are the responsibility of the team and may be incorporated into the team fee.
