Ice Time Management

All ice drops must be submitted to Doug Zmolek using the following format:

DROP: 12.21.21 BB GOLD 3:30 PM G3

Ice Drop Guidelines

• Ice drops must be submitted at least 48 hours before the scheduled ice time.
• If you are dropping ice scheduled for the current week, requests must be made Monday through Wednesday. This gives the rink staff the best opportunity to resell the ice. Dropping weekend ice on Thursday or Friday makes that process very difficult.
• Ice scheduled one week or more in advance may be dropped on any day.

If you are unable to meet these guidelines, please contact me and I will do my best to help find another RYHA team that can use the ice.

• Please do not let scheduled ice go unused. Ice costs nearly $200 per hour, and RYHA is responsible for the expense whether the ice is used or not.

All requests for additional ice must be submitted to Doug Zmolek.

When requesting ice, please include the date and the time range you are looking for. If you have a preferred time, include that as well. For example:

"I am looking for ice on 12/3/21 between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM."

Providing a range of acceptable times increases the likelihood of finding available ice.

Once your request is received, I will contact Graham Arena and the Rec Center to determine what ice is available and coordinate the reservation.

Once your games are scheduled, please notify the appropriate rink manager as soon as possible.

Please use the following format when sending game information:

GAME: 12.22.21 Rochester vs. Roseau 6:45 PM G4

If a game is added close to the game date, Bob has requested that coaches or managers text him to ensure proper locker room assignments. Maintaining adequate separation between teams on game days is important.

Providing game information promptly helps the rink staff coordinate locker rooms and ensure a smooth experience for all teams.

If you trade ice with another RYHA team for any reason, you must notify the appropriate rink manager so they can update the TV board and ensure correct locker room assignments.

Please use the following format when reporting an ice trade:

ICE TRADE: 11.24.21 BA BLACK 8:00 PM G4 & 12.3.21 PA BLACK 6:45 PM G4

Timely communication is important to ensure accurate scheduling displays and proper locker room coordination.
