ATTENTION Rochester Area Hockey Players

RYHA is excited to announce that the association will be sponsoring, supporting and bringing a Jr Gold Hockey program back to Rochester.

The RYHA board has approved the initiative, the state of Minnesota has approved the initiative and Rochester has already been slotted into a division for this upcoming season. (Alexandria, Moorhead, Rock Ridge, Grand Rapids and Duluth)

The goal is to provide an opportunity for players in the community that have aged out but wanting to play hockey beyond RYHA, to provide a place for players that do not want the commitment and rigor of playing for a High School team, to keep players in the game if they do not make a High School team, or want to continue to develop in hopes of making a HS team in the future and also provide a place for those that just want to play hockey, without a huge commitment and also want to play other sports or be involved with other high school programs. 

The season will be short yet intense. The season will start in early December with tryouts in mid-November, it will be approximately 9 weeks long beginning on December 4th and ending February 23rd.  There will be one to two practices a week, a minimum of 3 away weekends and 3 home weekends. The game weekends will consist of 4 games each weekend (1 game on Friday night, 1 game Saturday morning, 1 game Saturday night and one game Sunday morning). Following the season there will be a playoff weekend March 3rd and the state tournament will be held March 15-17th if applicable.

Right now we need to decide if we will be able to field a squad for 2023-24 and therefore looking for players and families that are interested.
