Graham Arena Complex Bleacher Seating Heat Guidelines

Our goal is to provide an arena complex that takes care of the on-ice user groups needs and allows for a comfortable spectator environment. We want fast ice for great game play as a priority. We
all must understand that this is an ICE arena and t o have great ice w e need proper air and ice temps. Our facility does not have dehumidification in the arenas, so we are limited to keeping
the goal of 50-degree air temps and 50% humidity in check. Do your part... dress warm for an ice arena facility.

Here are the arena guidelines for heat:

  1. We do not provide heated spectator bleachers for practice sessions. There is a warm lobby area available to wait in while your player practices.
  2. We do provide heat for the mite level practices. They do not have regular season game schedules, so this is really the chance to watch your player on the ice.
  3. We will cycle the heat on and off throughout the day or evening when games are being played. We cannot leave heat on for long durations of time as the building will warm up to a point where we get condensation and water drips from the ceiling to the ice surface. We will also lose proper ice temps and then the ice is slow and sometimes wet.
  4. It is unlikely that the entire time you are watching a game that the heat will be on. It will cycle on and off frequently. The arena staff is trained in on heat expectations, and they are aware when to turn heat o n and when they should not turn heat on.

What you can do!

  • Dress warm. You are participating in an event that takes place in an ICE arena. We are not a modern facility with proper dehumidification, so please understand your environment.
  • Use the enclosed mezzanine areas in Graham Arena One and Graham Arena Three.
  • Don't harass the arena staff. They are doing their job and priority number one is providing a quality ice sheet that is fast, does not have water dripping on it, and is safe for the players.
